Feathers of ice falling from a dying bird that I cannot see Though you've not told me I'm certain your wings are bare under the blanket of white and your body will not be there come Spring
Makes me think of the dead bird on saw on the floor of the carport this morning. Sometimes, once they fly in, they just keep trying to get out of the big closed windows and down see the big a$$ opening where they came in. Bummer.
magical lyrical visual, delectible!
ReplyDeleteNice reading words that flow off the tongue.
ReplyDeleteThe eye was normal when the picture was taken. I didn't do anything with it. The squirrel in the snow picture.

ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment, San Diego is beautiful and I am never bored by the weather there.
That remark came from someone else to me and as I pointed out, even in San Diego one can feel seasonal change...
I wish I were there today as the weather here is wet, gray and miserable.
Nice, Jeff. Very deft touch.

ReplyDeleteDear Jeff: Wonderful poem; well-written! Especially love the first two lines
ReplyDelete"Feathers of ice
falling from a dying bird"
This has a very Haiku feel to it, with the element of water (ice) and other natural themes. Great flow!
This is haunting ....

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. I want more poetry from you. This proves it's in there. You know it.
